Youth Camera Action (YCA)

YOUTH CAMERA ACTION (YCA) is a free photography programme for Bermuda’s middle school youth ages 11-14. Our summer programme was sponsored by BTC and our school term is sponsored by Catlin End-to-End Bermuda, who generously cover all costs, including instruction, equipment rental, photographic paper and field trip locations. 

Enrollment for YCA Spring Term is now OPEN! Download the application at the bottom of the page. Classes for YCA Spring Term runs from April 21 - May 19, 2012.

Classes are held at the Bermuda National Gallery on:

Tuesday (Intermediate Class) 3:45 pm-4:45 pm

Thursday 3:45 pm-4:45 pm

Saturday 10:00 am-11:30 am

Saturday 12:00 pm-1:30 pm

The programme's commitment time is about 15 hours each school term. Space is limited.

Classes are led by instructors:

Rohan Shastri is a photographer who studied at the University for the Creative Arts in England, UK. Mr. Shastri has worked alongside reputable photographers in London such as fashion photographers Jochen Braun and Alexis Armanet . Mr. Shastri also led the YCA 2011 Summer camp and co-taught the 2011 YCA Autumn Term.

Dany Pen studied at the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada. Known for her photo-installations, her works has been exhibited in numerous exhibition in Toronto, New York and Bermuda. Ms. Pen is also an educator who has taught students from preschool to college level.
