Biennial Jurors:
Naomi Beckwith
Formerly the Associate Curator at The Studio Museum, Harlem, Naomi Beckwith has recently been appointed the new Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago. She received an MA with Distinction from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, completing her thesis on Adrian Piper and Carrie Mae Weems, and a BA in history from Northwestern University, Illinois. She was a 2009 grantee of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and was named the 2011 Leader to Watch by ArtTable. She serves on the boards of the Laundromat Project (New York) and Res Artis (Amsterdam). Recent projects include Lynette Yiadom-Boakye: Any Number of Preoccupations (2010-11) and Zwelethu Mthethwa: Inner Views (2010.
Christopher Cozier
Christopher Cozier is an international artist, writer, and curator living and working in Trinidad. He has exhibited in the 7th Havana Biennial, Infinite Island at The Brooklyn Museum (2007), Equatorial Rhythms at The Stenersen Museum, Oslo (2007), HereThereEverywhere at the Chicago Cultural Centre (2008), the Trienal Poli/Gráfica de San Juan: América Latina y el Caribe (2009), and Journeys through the Black Atlantic at the TATE, Liverpool (2010), to name a few. Cozier is co-director of the gallery Alice Yard in Trinidad, as well as an editor of Small Axe, and joint curator of the exhibition Wrestling with the Image at the Museum of the Americas, Washington (2011).
