EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

Overview

Our Education Department offers a variety of opportunities for schoolchildren, families and the general public to interact with and learn from our exhibitions, including our Education Centre, the ArtReach Museum Education Programme for schools, Adult Education Programme and Art Camps.

The Bermuda National Gallery runs many education programmes throughout the year in conjunction with our exhibitions and local artists, like our Summer Camp.

Adults

We have a lively educational and social programme including lectures, seminars, presentation, film shows, jazz nights, dinner parties and receptions, including our PartnerRe Lecture Series.

Educate yourself! Our Lunchtime Lecture Series, sponsored by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs & Sport, on Wednesdays from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m..

Families

Don't miss our interactive Education Centre at the Gallery entrance - it's full of books and fun things to do for kids of all ages (and their parents too!).

Art Camps and Classes

The Bermuda National Gallery offers a disciplined-based art education programme. The children learn about the visual arts and are given the opportunity to view, make, critique and evaluate art whilst having fun. Check our calendar of events for current programming.

ArtReach Museum Education Programme for Schools

In studies, it has been proven that museum education programme can improve children’s literacy and critical thinking skill. Our aim at the BNG Education Department is to enhance the students visit by giving them more insight and the opportunity to interact with the Museum’s collections and exhibitions, enabling them to learn and understand the historical and cultural contexts in which the work of art were made.

Our current exhibitions offer something for everyone, so reward your students with a visit to the National Gallery, Bermuda's art museum.

To book a tour, please call the Gallery on 295-9428 or e-mail our Education Director, Lisa Howie. We can customise tours to meet your curriculum needs.
