Bermuda National Gallery Summer ART CAMP 2011
Dates: July 4-22 & August 1-5
Ages: 8-12
Tuition: $250 per week for members and $275 per week for non-members.
The Bermuda National Gallery (BNG) is excited to bring you a summer art camp based on our current exhibitions featuring The History of Art in Bermuda, Decoding the European Collection, The Art of Elisée Maclet, and the William Collieson Retrospective. Students will view work at the BNG, meet a local artist participating in the exhibition, and create original artwork based on the genre and styles of the current exhibiton. The summer campers will also learn about internationally renowned artists. Students will develop their vocabulary for contemporary art, as well as their knowledge and appreciation for the history of art in Bermuda, European Portraits, and the development of French Impressionism. The students will explore the many media and messages of artists, past and present, local and overseas. The one-week camps will feature a different theme weekly with related, interactive field trips included. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn, be inspired and create!
Please contact our Education and Communications Officer Dany Pen or call (441) 295-9428 to find out when registration opens. Camp cost includes supplies, transportation between BNG and field trip locations.
