Local artist Edwin M.E. Smith is an art educator and graphic designer. His work experience includes four years as a senior designer at the Island Press and more than 20 years of teaching experience at the elementary, secondary, community school and college levels. Presently, Edwin serves as a senior lecturer in the Art & Design Programme at the Bermuda College. Awards and recognitions received include the Malcolm Propes Fellowship in 1993 from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Savannah, Georgia, and a commissioned painting hung for the occasion of the visit of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth to City Hall in March 1994. Edwin also received recognition from the Bermuda House of Parliament in October 1997 for his exhibition Seven Days from Never.
